Gen V Fair Non-Moody Set

Bibarel (M) @ Expert Belt

Trait: Simple

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

  • Charge Beam
  • Surf
  • Ice Beam
  • Thunder Wave
by
Have you seen his special attack? It's not as great as it could be...
Bibarel with Simple is really only useful if you use stat-boosting moves. Its Special Attack isn't as forgiving either.
That's what Charge Beam is for. With Simple, it's a 70% chance to double special attack.

Mr. Beaver(Narnia, the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Simple
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 58 Attack, 252 HP, 100 Defense, 100 S.Defense

Waterfall
Curse
Amnesia
Stealth-rock/Return

Waterfall is STAB. Curse is for boosting. Amnesia is for boosting. Stealth-rock is an entry hazard but if you already have a Pokemon for that use Return for STAB. I have done alot of damage with this guy.

Bibarel
Bibarel @ Life Orb
Ability: Simple
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

  • Work Up
  • Aqua Tail
  • Return
  • Quick Attack

Work up boosts Bibarel's attack, making it do more damage, obviously.
Aqua Tail is STAB, and should to decent damage when plus2.
Return is secondary STAB, and has a pretty good base power because of STAB.
Quick Attack is to finish off things, because Bibarel really doesn't like taking hits.

Stereotypically, Bibarel is considered to be a horrible Pokémon. Statwise, it would seem that way to most. However, Bibarel can have three of some of the best abilities in the game: Simple, Unaware, and Moody. It also doesn't have that bad a moveset, and it can also get STAB from Normal-type moves. Bibarel also has the same base stat total as Azumarill (410), yet Azumarill is pretty widely used. So why can't Bibarel?

Here's my suggestion:
Nature: Careful, Impish, or Adamant
Ability: Simple
EVs: 128 Sp. Def./128 Def./128 HP/124 Atk.
Item: Kee Berry (?) or Leftovers

Moveset suggestions:
-Amnesia - with Simple, using this once will triple Bibarel's Sp. Def.
-Curse (or less desirably Work Up) - once again, for double stat boosts
-Skull Bash - double Defense boost, plus STAB
-Waterfall - basic STAB attack
-Double Team (probably) - doubles evasiveness (assuming you're not playing Pokémon Showdown)

If you'd rather not spend time looking for something that knows Simple Beam for double battles, Bibarel would be a good replacement.

As for its other abilities, which are both extremely useful, Bibarel wouldn't be the first choice because of stats. If you want to use something with Unaware, Quagsire or Clefable would be a better choice. If you want to use Moody (if it's legal on whatever you're playing), I would suggest Octillery or Glalie. As for Simple, Bibarel would still be a good choice.

On a side note, Bibarel is virtually the best HM slave since Gen IV (next to Mew, but no one in their right mind would do that). It can learn most HMs with the notable exception of Fly (just try to picture that).

For the Kee Berry, shouldn't Natural Gift be in there if it's holding that item?
I feel like azumarill is used because of huge power...

Never saw this one so here it is!

Bibarel @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 Hp/4 Atk/96 Def/156 Sp.def
Ability: Simple
Nature: Careful/Impish
-Curse
-Amnesia
-Return
-Rest

Alright, lemme explain. Built to tank! Many people don't see it, but there are more opportunities to set up in a battle then expected. Best part about this set? Toxic, Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave can say bye to it! But a fair warning: take out all Ghost-types before usage of this monstrosity. Mostly meant to be a fun set but you can replace moves and change EVs and use it competitively. Be warned though, it doesn't work well out of RU at most. Have fun with it!

Hope this set brings victory to many!

Gen 7 ZU

Bibarel @ Life Orb / Waterium Z
Ability: Simple
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature

  • Hydro Pump / Scald
  • Thunderbolt / Charge Beam / Return
  • Ice Beam
  • Work Up

The almighty Bidoof's parent (though that doesn't mean it is better). Hydro Pump is strong STAB, Scald is weaker but has more PP and accuracy while also having a good chance to burn. Return is normal STAB. Thunderbolt can be used for coverage and Charge Beam to potentially get a boost equivalent to that of a Nasty Plot, but both options don't take advantage of Work Up as well. Ice Beam covers Grass types. Work Up sets you up for victory or something like that

Why 252 Speed twice?
Whoops, I meant 252 SpA. Sorry about that

For Bibarel I prefer these to:

First Bibarel
EVs: 128 HP 128 Atk 127 Def 127 S. Def
Nature: Brave
Item: leftovers
Ability: Simple
Moveset:

  • Amnesia, It's a great boost if you'r up against a special sweeper.
  • Defense Curl, for physical sweepers and to power up Rollout.
  • Waterfall, high power with STAB, good coverage.
  • Rollout, with good enough defense you can reach far.

Second Bibarel
EVs: 252 Atk 128 HP 64 Def 64 S. Def
Nature: Brave
Item: Life Orb/Leftovers
Ability: Simple
Moveset:

  • Waterfall, high power with STAB. good coverage.
  • Skull Bash, power with STAB, and great with bonus Defense.
  • Curse, great with Simple.
  • Amnesia, same as last.

Bibarel (M) @ Lax Incense
Ability: Simple
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 184 Spe
Jolly Nature
- [Gen 6] Work Up [Gen 7] Swords Dance
- Waterfall
- Return
- Substitute

I'd say this is a pretty good Bibarel moveset in PU. At first I thought less of it and used it as a lead Pokemon just to sacrifice it and ready my other Pokemon. But now I respect it.

Substitute is used to block status moves such as toxic or thunder wave. If a Pokemon uses a stat boosting move like Calm Mind/Bulk-Up, then it's still pretty safe the next turn since Substitute will protect it, plus if Bibarel went first in using Substitute, then I know that I can safely set up Work-Up while my opponent destroys the substitute, then the next turn, I would attack. Waterfall and Return for STAB.

Bibarel does get Curse, which could be useful behind a sub to reduce physical damage and boost attack. Bibarels not very fast anyway and bulk sets won't hurt hit.

i will write this awnser based on a roblox Pokemon game whicch nintendo claimed :(. this means: NO CLAUSES OR BANS

[email protected] Sash
Trait: Moody (durb I said no clauses, so...)

EVs: 4HP, 252 ATK, 252 SPE
Nature: Adamant (+atk-spa) or Jolly (+spe-spa)

Moves:

Aqua Jet (priority move, this with a swords dance can sweep a team, and if moody helps... BOOM)

Swords Dance (even without simple, it's a great move which helps aqua jet sweep. swords dance+moody boost+aqua jet STAB=sweep.)

Superpower (power, power power.)

Waterfall/liquidation (liquidation if adamant nature, waterfall if jolly nature. both moves are powerful and receivs stab.)

This guy is just a super-physical sweeper

Bibarel@Leftovers
NATURE: Impish (+Def -SpAtk)
ABILITY: Moody
EVs: 252 Def/252 SpDef/4 HP

Super Fang
Toxic
Yawn
Protect

Staller set. Super Fang cuts opponent's HP in half. Toxic badly poisons opponent. Yawn to make the opponent fall asleep. Protect to stall out a bit more.

Bibarel @ White Herb
Ability: Simple
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Curse (-2 Spe cancelled out by White Herb, +2 Atk and +2 Def)
- Skull Bash (+2 Def and STAB)
- Aqua Jet (+1 Priority and STAB)
- Swords Dance (+4 Atk)
(I know the -2 Spe from Curse doesn't matter due to Aqua Jet's +1 Priority, but Skull Bash has no Priority)

by
Definetely replace skull bash with return. other than that, it's pretty good.

Bibarel @ Leftovers
Role: Physical Sweeper/Tanker thing
Trait: Simple
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, - SAtk)
EVs: 252 Atk/ 128 SDef/ 128 Def
Moveset:
- Waterfall/Liquidation (STAB, high power, chance to flinch vs lower Def)
- Skull Bash (STAB, high power, with Simple Def will be boost)
- Amnesia (with simple boost the raise in SDef)
- Rest (after the boosts from Skull Bash and Amnesia and Bibarel has been injured, use Rest to recover health. Bibarel will be a sitting duck for three turns but upon awaking, its health and status conditions will be fully restored!)

Extra: Regarding the EV spread, if you wish to, you may choose to give 252 HP instead of 252 Atk, depending on whether you want it to last longer with Rest or you want to finish the battle as fast as possible and use Rest as a last resort.
