Meta-PokéBase Q&A

As most of you know, Sun and Moon are coming out soon. (or already out, if you're reading this in the future) (and that rhymed) Usually, new Pokemon games means new users. If we want them to stay, it would probably be a good idea to make sure they're familiar with the rules BEFORE they get perma-banned. As most of you also know, new users tend not to read the rules. Even if they take two minutes to read all the bold sentences, they usually forget everything in the two following minutes. Then, when their posts get rejected, they start thinking this site sucks and leave. So if you want this community to get bigger, you should probably give reasons for hiding or rejecting posts, or at least change the "your post was hidden" message to remind people to read the rules.

Edit: People are saying that writing a response every time would be too much work, so we should probably just have a short list of responses to choose from, such as "Opinion questions are not allowed" or "Questions about in-game teams are not allowed".

I agree, +1. It would be nice to have a simple one or two sentence explanation of how the post is not allowed (perhaps only on the first offence — any follow-up transgressions don't need an explanation). There could even be a list of "stock sentences" that mods could choose from so that they don't need to type out the same thing over and over, for example:

"In-game teams are not allowed on the RMT. Competitive teams only!"
"Asking questions about movesets are not allowed. There are already threads in place for this, and can be found quickly with the search function."
"Opinion questions/answers are not allowed. This is a Q&A resource, and opinions are not facts."

Make sure that they're worded nicely, and I believe this could be an excellent addition to the DB!
^ Astro's comment is probably the best solution actually
First transgression, we tell you why. If you still can't be bothered reading the rules, then I don't want to give you a new reason every time. Stock options with a choice to write a custom, extended response or smomething would also be nice if this did become a thing.
I question if they'll actually read why it was hidden however. I feel like half of them are only going to see "hidden by [insert ******]" anyway.
Writing a response every time sounds like way too much work, especially since admin probably deal with this stuff more than we think. Astro has the solution!
Good news, should this thread be hidden now that it’s a thing?
It technically isn't a thing, and also no anyway, there's no reason to hide old discussions.  What if it becomes relevant again in the future?

You can just go inactive and have fizz do everything.
