Thread: where did you get your username from?

I got this idea from a speedrun.com user. He made a thread dedicated to how you got your username. So i thought "i could apply this to the META section of pokebase" Wait... Is this even allowed? Other people made threads for your username on pokemon showdown! and pokemon online (which you could put on your profile) and didnt get flagged (as of my time on the site) so hopefully is allowed

I guess I'll answer this, and probably get downvoted because of a certain game that I'll mention.

The "A Noob" part of my name dates back to when I used to play Roblox (pls don't hate me for that lol, I stopped playing it two years ago). In late 2017, I really wanted to change my username, because my old one had started to make me cringe and question what I was thinking (and I will not mention it here), and I began using the Noob skin, forming a Noob Gang among some friends. Two months later, I saved up enough to get my username changed to "JustAnElementalNoob", referencing my favourite Roblox game at that time, Elemental Battlegrounds, and that fact that I still had the Noob skin, except with cosmetics representing fire, ice and electricity. About a year later, I stopped playing Roblox.

Then the "Without A Name" part of my username. In April 2019, which was around the time I lost interest in Roblox, I started playing Pokémon Showdown. I didn't really know what to make my username. Even if my Roblox username didn't go over the character limit (which it did) there's no way I would've went with it. I wanted to keep the "Noob" part in, but had no idea what else to put in my username. Eventually, because I couldn't think of a name, I settled with "ANoobWithoutAName". That name has stuck with me since.

Ever since I created my Showdown account, every username I've made since then have been either the same as it somewhat similar to it, depending on the character limit. Part of the reason it's stuck with me is because of the potential for jokes. I remember once while I was playing something, someone said to me: "I'm gonna call you Billy" (I don't have a screenshot sadly), and Frozen Inferno 火 has already made a few jokes about it, including but not limited to this:

So, yeah. That's how I got my username. I'm not very creative so it's likely that I'll never change it. If one day I do change my username, it'll probably be something related to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, my favourite video game of all time. But no guarantees.

Sooo, just in case it wasn't clear, Blast comes from my first and favorite pokémon: Blastoise. Fury is because it simply sounds cool, especially together with Blast. Fury can also mention the fact that I have very unpopular Pokémon opinions (Vannilite is my favoriteice type). The numbers are my birth year (2006) and my age when I logged in the site (14).

Had planned on my username being HelpfulRiolu..but I don't like sounding egoistical and I don't like Riolu that much. So I didn't know what to pick.. until I launched my Legends Z-A save file and was met face to face with my male Pyroar, a Pokémon I enjoy way more. Hence UnhelpfulPyroar

my username was originally Nightfall0428, Nightfall cuz thats my username for almost everything, 0428 cuz i like even numbers so i ordered them using a random number generator. my username now is Good Nightmares cuz i came up with the idea and everyone that voted on my username last username change voted on Good Nightmares so ya (well i think it was everyone)

I'm a combo of my top three Pokémon. Cinderace has always been a classic for me. I love bunnies, football, and adding a fireball that it can kick at people equals perfection. Since I'm a baker, any Pokemon which eat loads of food are great, and Morpeko is the essence of feed me or else whilst still being so unique. I also have fantasies of, in the pokemon anime, whenever i get mad, it gets mad too, as well as i just adore both forms. As for Sylveon, its one of the reasons one of my best friends and i got talking, its shiny is peak, it HOLDS THE TRAINERS HAND WITH ITS RIBBONS, and it has tiny little teeth which only i ever notice so for me it seems secretly evil. Therefore, Cinderace+Morpeko+Sylveon= UltimateCindMorVeon. ;-)

just to clarrify THE FEESHY PART OF MY NAME DOES NOT COME FROM FISH!!!! (although it used to) it now comes from “fishy” as in “suspicious” the Freggles part is a nickname I got from one of my freinds

Extra info: I first used this name on showdown and now it is my name for everything. Made it because I liked fish at the time and me and my friend were making a Google slideshow about fish.

My username is the exact same as my Showdown! username, because whenever I make an account anywhere and don't want to use my real name, I use Hoenn's Fury. It's pretty much my internet name, and it can get awkward when I use it for something not video game related. (But I still use it anyways.)

I thought of Hoenn's Fury when making my Showdown! account. I was originally going to use Hoenn Dragon when I discovered that that name was taken both on Showdown! and here, so I came up with Hoenn's Fury, because I was kinda mad that I couldn't use my first idea.

If you ever see anyone on the internet with the name Hoenn's Fury, that's very likely to be me.

My current username is DelphoxOracle. I got the idea while looking at the Database's etymology section. Apparently, Delphox is derived from the Delphic Oracle of Ancient Greece, so I just combined Delphox with Oracle. Not the most original name, but it was the best thing I could think of at the time. When the next name changing period rolls around, I'm going to change my name to something better. I actually have something pretty good in mind. It'll go well with a new Gravatar I plan to add soon too.

My name was actually identical (Kinda) To an already existing name.
One day I wanted to be a part of Pokemon Database. I didn't know what to name my account when I found somebody named "Blissey Boy" And you can basically patch the rest.
And that is how I got my name ;)

Hiya, I know everyone here is explaining there users so I'll explain mine.
My first and original user was CatPokémon because I'm obsessed with cats and I really like Pokémon.
Now my user is Solluleocat and the reasoning for that is a combination of Lunala and Solgaleo together with cat on the end making Solluleocat.

My first username was Savitar. He was the villain of the third season of the flash tv show, the last season where the show wasn't garbage. Whenever I create an account on something I'm not sure I'll stick around to, I usually go with this one since it's so easy to remember for me. If I do decided to stick around with whatever site I join up on, I usually replace it with something else

My username now, KyokaSuigetsu, is the name of the sword of my favorite villain of all time, Sosuke Aizen. I just decided to use it as my original change when it was allowed earlier this year was 'Commandment of Piety' but that was too long so I just settled with Kyoka Suigetsu since I really liked how it could mess with one's enemies. This username is the exact opposite of how I play this game though since I rarely mess with my opponent and just engage autopilot and lose -_-

So, my name came from two Pokemon. The first name, Porygon, is because I like the Porygon evolution. Zangoose is because it's my favorite Pokemon, and I even have a shiny Zangoose on Pokemon X. Also, if you do PorygonZ, the Z could stand for Zangoose, creating the name PorygonZangoose.

EDIT: My new name is ManectricMadness. The first part Manectric is because I seem to be liking the Pokemon Manectric lately. The Madness part is based on one of Mega Manectric's Pokedex, specially, part of the Ultra Moon Pokedex entry:

Too much electricity has built up in its body, irritating Manectric. Its explosive speed is equal to that of a lightning bolt.

My first username was snom. This was because despite snom having died out in terms of popularity, I hadn't caught up with the latest Pokemon trends and for some reason decided to sign up with that username.

My second username was SSuperiority. It is a reference to my signature Fire-Water-Grass cores. The 'S' part is steam, because of Greninja and Charizard being Water and Fire types respectively, and Fire+Water makes steam. Superiority because Serperior.

Ignis Aqua Herba is 'Fire Water Grass' in Latin.
