I want to preface this by saying that this is a VERY niche set, but I feel like this is still worth mentioning.
Gen 9 National Dex Dedicated Stallbreaker
Kyurem @ Loaded Dice / Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Icicle Spear
- Freeze-Dry
This is a late-game Pokemon that can singlehandedly destroy most Stall teams given sufficient chip from its teammates. Substitute allows it to block status, notably Burn from Mega Sableye but also the plentiful Thunder Waves and Toxics. Dragon Dance and Icicle Spear allow Kyurem to break past walls like non Iron Defense Corviknight. Freeze-Dry hits Dondozo and Quagsire hoping to use Unaware to block a supposed physical sweeping set. Tera Fairy both acts as general utility against other Dragons, notably Dragonium Z Dragonite, as well as resisting Body Press from Corviknight and Dondozo. Loaded Dice boosts Kyurem's damage output, notably reliably 2HKOing Mega Sableye at +1 and landing the same 2HKO at +0 against Specially Defensive Mega Sableye. Leftovers allow Kyurem to come in more towards the midgame, threatening out different Pokemon and potentially racking up hazard damage.
This Pokemon requires a lot of support to function, but it can certainly pay off for teams that require a stallbreaker that can also clean against most teams. For starters, there are certain Pokemon in stall and non-stall combined that this Kyurem has no chance against, notably Skeledirge (rare), Heatran, and Mega Scizor. Thus, teammates like Mega Charizard Y and Great Tusk can help break down these Pokemon early game. Great Tusk can also provide either Rocks or Rapid Spin support. In return, Kyurem threatens the Dragons that Charizard can't hit and that Great Tusk needs Ice Spinner for. Charizard also threatens huge damage on physically defensive Sableye, which allows Kyurem to have an easier time KOing it later. Galarian Slowking is a great Pokemon to pair alongside Kyurem, notably resetting opposing weather and turning on Snow. With Snow, Kyurem gets a 50% Defense boost unless it used its Tera, allowing easier setup opportunities. In return, Kyurem can threaten Rain staples like Pelipper and Mega Swampert with Freeze-Dry, which helps boost Glowking's advantage. Kyurem can even outright sweep if Steels like Archaludon and Ferrothorn are removed, which can be done to thanks to Charizard and Great Tusk. Finally, other sweepers like Volcarona and Ogerpon-Wellspring appreciate the removal of specific stall Pokemon. Volcarona has an easy time cleaning up if Blissey/Chansey and Clodsire are removed, and Ogerpon-Wellspring enjoys freely boosting without the threat of being burned by Sableye.
Here are some notable calcs to demonstrate Loaded Dice Kyurem's stallbreaking ability against common stall Pokemon.
