Xerneas is super powerful. Everyone plays Pokémon X. Yveltal is lame compared to the fairy type legend. And even Yveltal’s typing is lame. But it’s got good moves, good special attack and good recovery.

So why does it feel so underrated?

It's entire gimmick is the Oblivion Wing + Big Root combo, which on paper sounds ridiculously powerful but it's too squishy to ever survive any Stone Edge or Moon Blast so it just gets oneshot without even being able to recover back it's HP
I think you answered your own question, xerneas is just mostly a better pick, which sometimes results in its counterpart being less popular. But there's always a special place in my heart for shiny toothpaste yveltal
Is this for gen 6 or gen 7?
Are you asking about in-game or competitive? And who told you that X is more popular than Y?
In Gen 6 and 7 it feels underrated. And everyone I know with either X or Y choose X.
Why are you asking us instead of them?
Because they just said “Xerneas is dope af. Yveltal sucks b*llz”.
I don't think you can expect anyone to explain why they don't like Pokemon that suck balls.
Your frens should meet my frens. I was the only one in my group that found Xerneas better than Yveltal. The way the tables turned post release was hilarious lol
Thanks for the flag. I don't have a problem with this, but I did make the title slightly different, and maybe more workable.
In masters worlds, Yveltal appeared twice as much as Xerneas in Top 8.

Well, every one is different. Look at this example.
EXAMPLE: I really like Pikachu, but my little sister likes Eevee better.
It's kinda like with Xerneas and Yveltal. Some people like a Fairy (Xerneas) type better than a Dark/Flying (Yveltal) type.
It mainly just depends on the person your asking, Because I like both Xerneas and Yveltal equally.
Did that answer your question? If not let me know. ^-^(I was only going off of what you said and my own experience)

I think this is the best way to answer such a vague and subjective question.
Thank you. I work long, and hard on this one. ^-^
