Share your best in-game teams for Pokemon Black and White on this thread! Teams should be aimed toward making casual runs of the game efficient, enjoyable and hassle-free.

Please follow these guidelines regarding detail in your post:

  1. For every Pokemon on the team, give recommended moves for use throughout the playthrough. Ideally, comment on more than just the four moves you'll finish with post-game.
  2. You can include items, abilities, etc. but they are not necessary.
  3. Provide explanation and detail. Justify your Pokemon and moveset choices; possible discussion points include ease-of-use, team synergy, and coverage for key battles.

Please also follow these guidelines regarding the contents of your team:

  1. If you recommend a Pokemon that is restricted by version exclusivity, trade evolution or events, please mention alternatives for people who cannot get the Pokemon. Do the same if you recommend moves, etc. that are only available by breeding or grinding.
  2. There are some unspoken rules of in-game teams, such as to keep the starter on the team and avoid legendaries. It's kind to give other options if you break these rules.
  3. Do not recommend Pokemon, moves, etc. that are only available through glitches and cheats. Please also avoid Pokemon etc. that are only available through trade or transfer.
  4. Original content only. You may use ideas you found elsewhere, but do not steal written content.

Submit your team as an answer, not a comment. To keep things tidy, we will remove any teams posted as comments in this thread. If you want to update your post, use the 'edit' button.

Please be sparing with images and formatting.

Please note that this thread is for the original Black and White; use this thread for the sequels.

Pokemon White Team Preview:

Note: This team will not work for Pokemon Black Version.

Emboar - Flare Blitz, Flamethrower, Brick Break, Wild Charge
This starter is good for the game for its offensive prowess, including its great movepool. Another good thing to point out is its great dual typing, which the other starters don't have. It is Fire and Fighting, two of the best offensive typings in the game. A weakness to point out is the lackluster Speed, but other members in the team can help with this issue. If you don't pick Emboar as your starter, then a good Fire type option I would recommend Chandelure or Darmanitan.

Carracosta - Shell Smash, Surf, Waterfall, Rock Slide
This will be the essential Water type to your team because it will carry 2 HM moves for the team in Surf and Waterfall. Carracosta has good offensive capabilities, but its best stat is Sefense. It is also the slowest Pokemon on the team, but thanks to Shell Smash everything changes... Shell Smash will boost your offenses and Speed by two stages, but lowers your defenses by a stage. Since every move has STAB, this Pokemon will be an offensive threat. Beware that it has a 4x weakness to Grass. If Samurott was your choice, then a Water type is not necessary, if not Seismitoad is also a good option for your Water type.

Krookodile - Earthquake, Dig, Crunch, Rock Slide / Brick Break
A physical threat with decent speed always counts as a powerhouse to the team. This is a great Ground type Pokemon having access to strong STAB moves such as Earthquake and Crunch. Make sure to get the Ability Moxie because Moxie will raise its Attack one stage after every Pokemon it kills, making it a strong sweeper with a great typing in Ground and Dark. Rock Slide and Brick Break are used for coverage. If Krookodile is not what you like, then I would recommend Excadrill or Golurk.

Eelektross - Thunderbolt, Wild Charge, Flamethrower, Brick Break / Dragon Claw / Acrobatics
This Pokemon has good mixed offensive stats, and it has no weakness thanks to Levitate. Though it lacks in Speed, it makes up for it in its solid defensive stats especially when it has no weaknesses. It has a vast move pool, enough to give any typing of a Pokemon a problem. This will be your Pokemon to deal with other water type Pokemon, seeing that there is no Grass type Pokemon on the team. If you don't like Eelektross, use Galvantula, Zebstrika, Leavanny or Lilligant, or pick Serperior as your starter.

Haxorous - Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Brick Break / Rock Slide
The main sweeper of this team. Just set up one Dragon Dance and it's GG, one of the strongest physical attacking Pokemon in the game with good Speed and solid defenses. Mono Dragon type is a good typing since it resists many other types. Dragon Claw for STAB, Earthquake for Steel types, and Rock Slide or Brick Break are for dealing with Ice types. Druddigon or Hydreigon are other strong Dragon types in this game.

Braviary - Fly, Brave Bird, Return / Strength, Superpower
A Flying type is always essential for a team, mainly for carrying the HM Fly as well as having that immunity to Ground types. Apparently this Pokemon will not be available for Pokemon Black Version, but if you have the White version you are in luck! This will be the last edition to the team since Rufflet won't be available until pretty late in the game and Rufflet evolves at the pretty high level of 54. If you are willing to train it before the Elite Four, then it will be well worth it. Braviary has great Attack and decent Speed, and access to some powerful moves in its movepool. Fly and Brave Bird are two of the strongest Flying type moves, and STAB makes them even stronger. Return is also powerful with STAB, but make sure Braviary has high happiness to increase the power. If you don't like Return, then use Strength. Strength is also an HM in the game. Superpower is used for Ice and Steel types. If you are not willing to get Braviary, then go with Archeops, Unfezant or Swanna.

Warning: This team is extremely weak to Fighting type Pokemon, if that bothers some of you, then please go on and make the necessary changes to the team suit the team how you want it. I just wanted to share the team that I used and had success with when I played the game :)

I would take out emboar and replace with chandelure. Thus, teaching it psychic will help against fighting types. Also Carracosta can be replaced by samurott. Then, if you really wanted to, you can take out krookodile for zoroark. Overall ,this team is super strong and can destroy the elite 4.

Team Overview :

SamurottLilligantDarmanitanSigilyphMienshaoGolurk

Note: You need Pansear to beat the first gym.
This team is for White

Samurott
Samurott @ Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Megahorn
- Revenge

Samurott is your surfer and starter. He can help you take on any of the Elite 4. Surf is STAB. Ice Beam and Megahorn are coverage moves and good for the Elite 4. Revenge is also coverage, taking advantage of Samurott's low Speed.

Lilligant
Lilligant @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Own Tempo
- Petal Dance
- Stun Spore
- Leech Seed
- Quiver Dance

Lilligant is an awesome Grass Pokemon that is available in only White. Petal Dance is powerful STAB. You don't need to worry that it will be confused after a few turns because its Ability prevents that. Leech Seed is an annoying draining move. Stun Spore is useful for catching Legendaries and wild Pokemon. Quiver Dance gives a nice boost to Lilligant's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.

Sigilyph
Sigilyph @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
- Psychic
- Air Slash
- Energy Ball
- Hypnosis

Sigilyph is probably the best Pokemon for taking on Marshal. He may be a Flying Pokemon but he will not be your flyer, instead being a great special attacker for your team. Psychic and Air Slash are STAB moves. Hypnosis is a useful move for annoying the target and catching legendaries. Energy Ball is nice coverage.

Darmanitan
Darmanitan @ Charcoal
Ability: Sheer Force
- Flare Blitz / Fire Punch
- Hammer Arm
- Rock Slide
- Toxic

Darmanitan is an amazing Pokemon with really good Attack. Flare Blitz is STAB, and with the help of its Ability, Flare Blitz will OHKO. If you don't like recoil moves, you can choose Fire Punch. Hammer Arm is coverage but lowers Speed. You can also choose Brick Break if you want to prevent Reflect and Light Screens. Rock Slide is coverage. Toxic is an annoying status move that takes out the opponent slowly.

Mienshao
Mienshao @ Expert Belt / no item
Ability: Regenerator
- Hi Jump Kick / Brick Break / Drain Punch
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

Mienshao is great for Grimsley. Hi Jump Kick is powerful STAB but the user takes damage if it misses. If you don't like it, you can choose Brick Break or Drain Punch. U-turn is coverage and for escaping while leaving some damage with the target. Acrobatics is great for Marshal if Mienshao is not holding an item. Stone Edge is coverage.

Golurk
Golurk @ Muscle Band
Ability: Iron Fist
- Shadow Punch
- Dynamic Punch
- Earthquake
- Fly

Golurk is your flyer. Shadow Punch and Dynamic Punch are great with Golurk's ability Iron Fist. Earthquake is powerful STAB. Fly is coverage and a move for Marshal, and also a needed HM. Shadow Punch is STAB. Dynamic Punch is an annoying move for Grimsley. It has 50 accuracy only unfortunately. If it hits, it will also leave the target confused.

Good luck!

I used this team in Black and White and it was very effective.

Samurott
Ability: Torrent
- Surf
- Razor Shell
- Ice Beam
- Megahorn

Here is your surfer, Samurott. It's very offensive and will destroy even Grass types with Ice Beam. Ice Beam also helps with the 8th gym and makes Alder easier to beat.

Musharna
Ability: Synchronize
- Zen Headbutt
- Moonlight
- Hypnosis
- Flash / Synchronoise

Musharna is very offensive and will help you destroy Marshal of the E4. Additionally, Hypnosis will make it easier for you to catch legendaries.

Krookodile
Ability: Intimidate / Moxie
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Foul Play
- Aerial Ace

Krookodile will beat the Psychic and Ghost Elite 4 members, as both types are weak to Dark. He is a good attacker and is very helpful to beat most Gym Leaders as well.

Unfezant
Ability: Big Pecks
- Fly
- Sky Drop
- Air Slash
- Brave Bird

Unfezant can be your flyer and is easily caught with its high catch rate. He can easily beat the Champion and Clay by himself, and he covers quite a few of Krookodile weaknesses.

Zebstrika
Ability: Lightningrod / Motor Drive
- Flame Charge
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat

Zebstrika covers your Fire type. He can learn 2 strong Fire type attacks and he only has one weakness, which Unfezant can destroy easily. Zebstrika is very fast and will help you beat Brycen, as it can paralyze the Ice type then end it with Overheat.

Cobalion
Ability: Justified
- Gyro Ball
- Sacred Sword
- Iron Head
- Retaliate

Cobalion is the only Legendary Pokemon I mention because he is so strong and easily obtainable. You can put him to sleep with Musharna and the catch him with a Poke Ball or Dusk Ball. He will help you beat Alder and he can easily end the Dragon gym with a couple of sacred swords.

Hope this was helpful

Flash and Synchronoise are both terrible moves. There's no reason to have four Flying moves on Unfezant. Why do you have Gyro Ball and Iron Head on Cobalion when it doesn't even learn Gyro Ball?

(Disclaimer: Items can be selected at your own decision, not everything works for everyone.)

Chandelure
Ability: Flame Body
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- Will-O-wisp

Ghost typing gives good coverage for 2 E4 members, and Fire type gives coverage to a swathe of other typings. Chandelure has a lot of resistances and two immunities, making it a good Pokemon to have on your team.

Virizion
Ability: Justified
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Giga Drain / Toxic

Virizion is your only Normal type counter, giving it a lot of importance for late game Plasma battles where Normal types are fairly abundant. Depending on your item (i.e Shell Bell or Leftovers), the last move can be changed out to your liking.

Galvantula
Ability: Compoundeyes
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Volt Switch
- Slash / Agility

Galvantula is your main Flying counter, and a secondary counter to Water and Grass. Compoundeyes makes Thunder more viable than Thunderbolt, and Volt Switch allows you more room to swap your team around at will. Agility is good for creating a fast switcher, or Slash is good for neutral coverage.

Krookodile
Ability: Moxie
- Crunch
- Dig
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Your only Electric counter, and your get out of caves free card with Dig. Krookodile will also either be your primary or secondary Pokemon for the Psychic E4.

Swoobat @ Scope Lens
Ability: Unaware
- Calm Mind
- Fly
- Psychic
- Air Slash

The flyer on your team and your main counter for Fighting types and the Fighting E4.

Samurott @ Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Grass Knot

Your surfer, Samurott is also your main Fire, Rock and Ground-type counter.

The only 'problem' with this team is that there is no Fragon-type counter. To get past the Opelucid Gym, it is helpful to substitute in a Beartic or Vanilluxe for your weakest Pokemon at the time. The pre-evolutions and occasionally the evolved Pokemon can be found before you reach Opelucid City.
If you pick either of the other two starters, I would recommend Carracosta as a good Water-type replacement. Hope this helps someone!

This team is extremely effective in completing the main game without any game specific exclusives.

Serperior @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Overgrow
Naughty Nature
- Giga Drain
- Leaf Blade
- Coil
- Aerial Ace

Location: Nuvema Town

Serperior is an extremely powerful Pokemon in patient hands. It capable of taking hits while you use Coil to increase your Attack and Defense and then go on the offensive and take out your opponents with a somewhat diverse moveset and incredible Speed.

Seismitoad @ Mystic Water
Ability: Poison Touch
Serious Nature
- Surf
- Earthquake
- Drain Punch
- Sludge Wave

Location: Pinwheel Forest

Seismitoad is a tank that has one weakness and a wide movepool to fight a variety of Pokemon. It has balanced base stats that make it a great addition to the team, as many Pokemon will have some weakness to his moves.

Scrafty @ Scope Lens
Ability: Moxie
Adamant Nature
- Brick Break
- Crunch
- High Jump Kick
- Rock Slide

Location: Desert Resort

Scrafty might be one of the best Pokemon to have in the main game. His typing and base stats allow for him to OHKO many Pokemon (especially Pokemon from Team Plasma) with ease. Its superb Defense and great Ability in Moxie allows him to progressively dominate an opponent's team.

Archeops
Ability: Defeatist
Lonely Nature
- Acrobatics
- Fly
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

Location: Desert Resort

Archeops is an incredible heavy hitter with its Ability being its major downfall. Despite that, it has a great variety of moves and U-turn allows it to make a quick hit and return before taking significant damage. If it's the faster Pokemon, your opponent is in a lot of trouble.

Chandelure @ Charcoal
Ability: Flash Fire
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Energy Ball

Location: Celestial Tower

Chandelure is a fragile but powerful Fire Pokemon that is great many situations. It has high Special Attack to put the power in its variety of moves that cover its weaknesses. It also has above average Defense and Special Defense to somewhat balance its extremely low HP. Its ability is great because it gives Chandelure immunity from Fire type moves!

Haxorus @ Dragon Fang
Ability: Rivalry
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break

Location: Mistralton Cave

Haxorus is one of the biggest bruisers in the main story of the game. It has incredible Attack and moderate Speed to outmatch opponents before they even attack (especially if the Pokemon is the same gender). Haxorus, being a Dragon type Pokemon, has many types that aren't effective in attacking it, and Brick Break covers the Ice weakness.

Enjoy the team! It was really fun for me to play with them and I hope you feel the same as you crush your opponents!

Mold Breaker is better than Rivalry because of all the Sturdy Roggenrola/Boldore/Sawk in the game.

Samurott @ Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
Jolly Nature
- Surf
- Megahorn
- Slash
- Aerial Ace

Samurott is a good starter with mixed attack stats. Surf is powerful STAB. Megahorn will take care of Psychic, Dark, and Grass types. Slash and Aerial Ace are for coverage.

Choose Oshawott as your starter.

Excadrill @ Amulet Coin
Ability Sand Force
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor
- Rock Slide
- Strength

Excadrill is a pretty good mixture of Ground and Steel. Earthquake is the most powerful Ground type move. X-Scissor and Rock Slide are for coverage. Strength is needed to go to the Pokemon League.

Catch a Drilbur in a dust cloud.

Leavanny @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Swarm
Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade
- X-Scissor
- Struggle Bug
- Swords Dance

Leavanny is a pretty good Grass and Bug type. Leaf Blade is STAB, and it also has a higher chance to crit. X-Scissor and Struggle Bug are STAB/coverage. Swords Dance boosts its Attack.

Catch a Sewaddle in Pinwheel Forest.

Darmanitan @ Charcoal
Ability: Sheer Force
Jolly Nature
- Flamethrower
- Hammer Arm / Brick Break
- Rock Slide
- Bulldoze

Darmanitan is one of the best Fire types in Unova. Flamethrower is a very good Fire type move -- if you can't get Flamethrower, use Fire Punch. Hammer Arm for Ice and Fighting types. Rock Slide and Bulldoze for coverage.

Catch Darumaka at Desert Resort.

Sigilyph @ Flying Gem
Ability: Magic Guard
Jolly Nature
- Fly
- Aerial Ace
- Psychic
- Energy Ball

You need a flyer for your team. Aerial Ace is STAB/coverage. Psychic is STAB. Energy Ball for Water types.

Catch Sigilyph at Desert Resort.

Beartic @ Nevermeltice
Ability: Slush Rush
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Brick Break
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam

Beartric is probably the best Ice type in Unova, but Vanilluxe is a good alternative. Icicle Crash is a very powerful STAB move. Brick Break and Grass Knot are for coverage. Ice Bean is very powerful Ice move that gets STAB.

Catch Cubchoo at Twist Mountain.

by

You don't need Ice Beam on Beartic. Try something like Shadow Claw instead.
This seems like a fairly solid team for the most part. That said, I'm not 100% sure Beartic is the best choice for an Ice-type 'Mon. Cubchoo is a nightmare to train, especially that late in the game. In addition, I think it would be better to have a good special attacker in place of another physical attacker. If you want a good Ice-type for the team that has decent stats and isn't a pain to raise and use in-battle, I'd highly recommend Vanilluxe, preferably running a Defense-boosting move like Acid Armor alongside its attacking moves, just to make it that little bit more annoying.

Basically grabbing a starter then building a team with coverage, using the 1.2x items for a lil bit more power

Samurott @ Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
- Surf
- Blizzard / Ice Beam
- Megahorn
- Aqua Jet

Surf is STAB, Blizzard is for Drayden (use an X Accuracy to start), Ice Beam postgame, Megahorn for coverage, Aqua Jet for priority.

Darmanitan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sheer Force
- Belly Drum
- Flare Blitz
- Fire Punch
- Hammer Arm

Belly Drum in game is the perfect setup move, with base 95 Speed you really don't have to worry about too much -- especially if you're a bit overlevelled. Sit on 5/8 health with 4x attack, sweep with Fire Punch. Flare Blitz to get in and cause havoc, Hammer Arm for coverage.

Excadrill @ Soft Sand
Ability: Sand Rush / Sand Force
- Hone Claws
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Metal Claw

Hone Claws for setup, Rock Slide for Skyla, Earthquake / Metal Claw for STAB.

Galvantula @ Scope Lens
Ability: Compoundeyes
- Thunder
- Signal Beam
- Energy Ball
- Thunder Wave

Thunder with Compoundeyes has 91 accuracy, and Signal Beam is also STAB. Energy Ball is coverage for those pesky Water/Ground types.

Sigilyph @ TwistedSpoon
Ability: Magic Guard
- Psychic
- Air Slash
- Shadow Ball / Fly
- Calm Mind

Fly for main game, use a slave to get to the league and run Shadow Ball there.

Scrafty @ Black Belt / Blackglasses
Ability: Moxie
- Brick Break
- Crunch
- Hi Jump Kick
- Stone Edge (Post Game)

STAB and coverage.

EmboarSeismitoadKrookodileSigilyphVanilluxeGalvantula / Eelektross
For this team, I didn't use any Post-Game TMs, Move Tutors, Egg Moves, version exclusives, trade evolutions or legendaries. I also tried not to use any moves over level 50 or any late game TMs unless it was necessary. This way, the team can be used by anyone. Enjoy c:

Emboar
Emboar (Starter)
Ability: Blaze
- Flamethrower / Heat Crash
- Hammer Arm
- Assurance
- Wild Charge / Rock Slide

Emboar is the best starter for a BW playthrough since it destroys the majority of the Gyms. Despite being a physical attacker, Emboar has a pretty good Special Attack stat so Flamethrower is a good STAB option. However if you want more power then use Heat Crash. Hammer Arm is its strongest Fighting STAB and has basically no negative effects since its Speed is already bad. Assurance is great for dealing with Emboar's Psychic weakness and takes advantage of its bad Speed stat. Wild Charge takes care of its Water/Flying weakness. You can use Rock Slide temporarily until you get access to Wild Charge.

Seismitoad
Seismitoad (Tympole - Pinwheel Forest)
Ability: Poison Touch
- Surf / Waterfall
- Poison Jab / Sludge Bomb
- Rock Slide
- Brick Break / Drain Punch

There aren't many great Water types to choose from. Carracosta is strong but it doesn't have good coverage -- some of its move are late game or postgame, so I chose Seismitoad instead. For Water STAB, Waterfall is a good option, but Seismitoad also has good Special Attack so using Surf isn't a bad idea. Poison Jab / Sludge Bomb is to take out any Grass type threats. Next is Rock Slide, a really good coverage move that has a chance to flinch, which is also nice to have. Brick Break / Drain Punch is another strong coverage move , it's great when dealing with Brycen and Grimsley. If you want Ground STAB, it unfortunately only has access to Dig and Bulldoze.

Krookodile
Krookodile (Sandile - Route 4)
Ability: Moxie
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Rock Slide
- Dragon Claw / Aerial Ace

Since Seismitoad didn't have access to any good Ground moves, and we need a way to deal with Psychic and Dark types, we might as well use Krookodile. Krookodile can learn Earthquake by level up so that's going be our Ground STAB. Crunch is an amazing Dark STAB because it can easily deal with both of Shauntal and Caitlin's teams. Rock Slide takes care of its Bug and Ice weaknesses. Aerial Ace is to deal with any Fighting type threats. Dragon Claw is strong and handy when battling Zekrom/Reshiram.

Sigilyph
Sigilyph (Desert Resort)
Ability: Magic Guard
- Air Slash / Fly
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Solar Beam / Charge Beam

Sigilyph is an amazing special attacker - it has good stats and a really good movepool. It's going to be your flyer, so you can give it Fly -- or if you have an HM Slave, give Sigilyph Air Slash. Psychic is obviously its best STAB and makes light work of Marshal. Shadow Ball to deal with Ghost types as well as other Psychic Pokemon. Solar Beam covers Water, Rock and Ground types, making it a pretty useful move. Charge Beam is another great option though.

GalvantulaEelektross
Galvantula (Joltik - Chargestone Cave) or Eelektross (Tynamo/Thunder Stone - Chargestone Cave)
Ability: Compoundeyes / Ability: Levitate
- Thunderbolt / Thunder
- Signal Beam (U-turn for Eelektross)
- Hyper Beam (Acrobatics for Eelektross)
- Volt Switch / Thunder Wave

Both Eelektross and Galvantula are really good Electric types to use. Galvantula is much faster than Eelektross but it has poor defenses, while Eelektross has slightly better defenses and no weaknesses, but is very slow. Thunderbolt is amazing STAB, but for Galvantula you could use Thunder as it takes advantage of Compoundeyes. Signal Beam is good STAB for Galvantula and U-turn is a great utility move as it can save Eelektross from fainting. Hyper Beam is incredibly strong and will most likely OHKO if not put your target at red health. For Eelektross, Acrobatics can be fairly useful against a lot of Fighting, Grass and Bug types.

Vanilluxe
Vanilluxe (Vanillite - Route 6 during Winter)
Ability: Ice Body
- Ice Beam / Blizzard
- Flash Cannon
- Toxic
- Light Screen / Acid Armour

Vanilluxe is a great special tank so we want to take advantage of its defensive stats. Ice Beam is strong STAB, and even though Vanilluxe can't have Snow Warning, Blizzard is a good choice too. Flash Cannon is its only good coverage move and is great for taking care of any Rock types. Toxic is a good move if you can stall. Light Screen is a good support move and helps deal with any special attackers. You can use Acid Armour if you want your Vanilluxe to be very bulky.

Good HM Slaves:
Basculin: Cut, Surf, Waterfall and Dive
Ducklett: Fly, Surf and Dive
Tirtouga: Surf, Strength, Waterfall and Dive

Hopefully this team can be very useful for your BW playthrough and I hope you enjoy using it. Good Luck!!!

SerperiorSeismitoadScraftyArcheopsGalvantulaChandelure
This time I will do Serperior:
For this team, I didn't use any post-game TMs, Move Tutors, egg moves, version exclusives, trade evolutions or legendaries. I also tried not to use any moves over level 50 or any late game TMs unless if it was necessary. This way, the team can be used by anyone. Enjoy c:

Serperior
Serperior (Starter)
Ability: Overgrow
- Leaf Blade / Giga Drain
- Aerial Ace
- Coil
- Leech Seed

Serperior is a fast and defensive Pokemon which means it will have a chance to set up and wall any threats. Giga Drain is an option; however I recommend Leaf Blade as it does more damage. Aerial Ace is a good coverage move and takes care of Bug types. Coil is to set up so you can be extremely bulky. Leech Seed will do chip damage and recover Serperior's HP.

Seismitoad
Seismitoad (Pinwheel Forest)
Ability: Poison Touch
- Surf
- Dig / Bulldoze
- Poison Jab
- Drain Punch

Seismitoad is probably the best Water type to use since other Pokemon like Carracosta or Jellicent have coverage moves which are very late game or post game. You can also get Tympole much earlier than other Water types. For STAB, Surf is the best move as it's Special Attack is pretty good for a physical attacker -- it also unlocks optional areas. For Ground STAB, unfortunately Earthquake is post-game so it only has access to Dig and Bulldoze. Poison Jab takes care of its Grass weakness and Drain Punch is an amazing coverage move as it can restore Seismitoad's HP.

Scrafty
Scrafty (Route 4)
Ability: Moxie
- Brick Break / Hi Jump Kick
- Crunch
- Rock Slide
- Strength

NOTE: You get Scrafty after Nacrene Gym so catch a Fighting type like Sawk temporarily.

The Dark typing is pretty handy since it can handle two of the Elite 4, and Fighting is good against major battles like Brycen and Grimsley. Brick Break is a really good STAB move; however, if you want more power, use High Jump Kick. Crunch is amazing STAB. Rock Slide can help against any Flying or Bug types. Strength is a pretty strong move and we need it in Victory Road.

Archeops
Archeops (Relic Castle)
Ability: Defeatist
- Acrobatics / Fly
- Rock Slide
- U-turn
- Bulldoze / Dragon Claw

Archeops is an extremely strong flyer to use in Unova with a BST of 567 - just make sure you don't activate its ability. Fly is needed for convenience, or if you have an HM mule then you can give Archeops Acrobatics. Rock Slide is good STAB and has a chance to flinch. U-turn can come in handy if Archeops is in trouble and you don't want to activate its Ability. Bulldoze is a decent coverage move, or you can use Dragon Claw if you are having trouble with Dragon types.

Galvantula
Galvantula (Chargestone Cave)
Ability: Compoundeyes
- Thunderbolt / Thunder
- Signal Beam / Bug Buzz
- Hyper Beam
- Volt Switch / Thunder Wave

Galvantula is extremely strong and fast, making easy work of any Water/Flying/Psychic/Dark types. Eelektross is another really good Electric type, however I already have 3 physical attackers so it would be unbalanced. For Electric STAB, Thunderbolt is pretty powerful, but Thunder is even better because its Ability Compoundeyes increases Thunder's accuracy to 91%. Signal Beam and Bug Buzz are both really good Bug STAB moves. Hyper Beam hits like a truck. Volt Switch can be useful if Galvantula is at low health and/or if you need to switch to another Pokemon. Thunder Wave takes care of any speedy Pokemon like Alder's Accelgor.

Chandelure
Chandelure (Celestial Tower)
Ability: Flash Fire / Flame Body
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Will-O-Wisp

NOTE: You need to beat 4 Gym Leaders before you can get Litwick so use Darmanitan or Simisear temporarily.

Chandelure has amazing stats with a Special Attack stat of 145, making it a powerful special attacker as well as a very good Fire type. Flamethrower is obviously its best Fire STAB and Shadow Ball is its best Ghost STAB. Psychic is a good coverage move. Will-O-Wisp helps out with any physical threats like Drayden's Haxorus as well as doing some chip damage, which can be a good combo with Serperior's Leech Seed.

Good HM Slaves:
Basculin: Cut, Surf, Waterfall and Dive
Ducklett: Fly, Surf and Dive
Tirtouga: Surf, Strength, Waterfall and Dive

Hopefully this team can be very useful for your BW playthrough and I hope you enjoy using it. Good luck!!!

For the Alder fight:

Emboar @ Leftovers
Ability: Blaze
- Flare Blitz (Lv 62)
- Hammer Arm (Move Reminder)
- Scald (TM55 in Cold Storage)
- Wild Charge (TM93 in Victory Road)

In my opinion, Emboar is the best starter. Fire and Fighting is an awesome typing and it has amazing coverage. Flare Blitz for a strong physical attack, Hammer Arm is the strongest Fighting type move it can learn, Scald for amazing coverage that's hard to find and Wild Charge for Flying types.

Leavanny @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Swarm
- Leaf Blade (Lv 36)
- X-Scissor (TM81 on Route 7)
- Aerial Ace (TM40 on Mistralton City Runway)
- Return (TM27 from Nimbasa City PokéMart)

While this might be a weird choice, Leavanny is a fantastic early game Pokemon and complements Emboar well in the early game while helping cover Psychic Pokemon. Leaf Blade is a strong physical attack for Leavanny, S-Scissor for Psychic types and Aerial Ace and Return for move coverage.

Krookodile @ BlackGlasses
Ability: Moxie
- Earthquake (Lv 54)
- Crunch (Lv 28)
- Dragon Tail (after you beat the 8th Gym)
- Brick Break (TM31 in Icirrus City)

The ace of the team along with Emboar, Krookodile is amazing in the end game and it can almost sweep the Elite 4 by itself. With BlackGlasses and Moxie, it can sweep through gyms, such as Drayden's, by itself. Earthquake is the strongest Ground type move, Crunch for Psychic coverage, Dragon Tail for Dragon coverage, and Brick Break for Normal coverage.

Sigilyph @ Psychic Gem
Ability: Wonder Skin
- Air Slash (Lv 41)
- Psychic (Lv 44)
- Shadow Ball (TM30 in Relic Castle)
- Fly (HM02 in Driftveil City from Bianca)

Easily the best flyer you can get before the league, as it's strong and covers a lot of Pokemon. Air Slash is the strongest Flying type move it can learn, Psychic is the strongest Psychic move it can learn, Shadow Ball for coverage and Fly just to fly around on (don't use in battle).

Carracosta @ Nevermeltice
Ability: Sturdy
- Waterfall (HM05 on Route 18)
- Blizzard (TM14 from Icirrus City PokéMart)
- Shell Smash (Lv 40)
- Surf (HM04 in Twist Mountain from Alder)

A very good defensive wall with Ice type coverage to help out. Waterfall for a strong Water type move, Blizzard for Dragon type coverage, Shell Smash for stat boosting and Surf to get around on (don't use in battle.)

Eelektross @ Quick Claw
Ability: Levitate
- Thunderbolt (TM24 at the P2 Laboratory)
- Flash Cannon (TM91 in Twist Mountain)
- Acrobatics (TM62 at Mistralton City Gym)
- Grass Knot (TM86 in Pinwheel Forest)

Has amazing coverage for a variety of Pokemon and with the ability of Levitate, it has no weaknesses. Thunderbolt is the strongest Electric type move, Flash Cannon for a Steel type move and Acrobatics and Grass Knot for coverage.

Teams for Samurott and Emboar, as Serperior has poor movepool and match-up against gyms and E4.

Some bad Black and White team that I have never used.

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
Adamant Nature
- Giga Drain
- Leaf Blade
- Coil
- Return
Starter, of course.

Darmanitan @ Expert Belt
Ability: Sheer Force
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Superpower
- Belly Drum
Strong fire type Pokémon with massive attack stat, boost with belly drum and sheer force.

Simipour @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Gluttony
Modest Nature
- Blizzard
- Surf
- Acrobatics
- Focus Blast
One of the best water type Pokémon in Unova, with high Speed and solid Special Attack stats, Gluttony with help Petaya berry can use soon and active Acrobatics.

Eelektross @ Quick Claw
Ability: Levitate
Quiet Nature
- Wild Charge
- Crunch
- Flash Cannon
- Flamethrower
None weakness electric Pokémon with a huge moveset and solid stats.

Unfezant @ Scope Lens
Ability: Super Luck
Jolly Nature
- Fly
- Roost
- Night Slash
- Work Up
A small lucky bird…

Druddigon @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Hone Claws
Worst dragon type ever, but have a cool sprite.

This team is quite fun and solid for playthrough, Druddigon would bad in pvp but still good in core game, most member in this team is single type, interesting.
Unfezant can learn night slash through breeding in late gen, I trade it back for a better bird. If not, you can cheat or use Return instead.

Please explain your choices. For example, why do you use Unfezant instead of Stoutland?
I use that bird for flying. Scoutland is bulky and strong, however, you will lose a flyer and a pokemon to beat Marshal. Since I can’t find any single flying type pokemon in Unova, Unfezant with Normal/Flying type is used as a single flying type Pokemon (normal type is useless in attacking).
Belly Drum isn't really that good because you have to heal after every battle just to use it again.
Belly Drum max Darm massive attack, but half user hp, so I only use it on battling strong trainer. After that, use one max potion :p
