Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

On the Thunder Stone page, it doesn't mention that Tadbulb evolves into Bellibolt with the Thunder Stone, nor does it have the description for the Thunder Stone in Scarlet and Violet, which is: A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokemon evolve. It has a distinct thunderbolt pattern.
On the Water Stone's page, it doesn't have the description of the Water Stone for Scarlet and Violet which is: A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokemon evolve. It is the clear blue of a deep pool.

Not all SV data has been entered in yet, the game is massive, and item descriptions are probably some of the last things on Pokemasters priority list

For the flying egg group page, it says

All Pokémon in this group are part Flying type, except for Decidueye

Since generation 8, that has been changed. Now, Galarian Sirfetch'd, Hisuian Decidueye, the Quaxly line, Flittle, and Espathra are all in the flying egg group yet not flying types.
I think this should be updated or just deleted.

Also, Maushold's "Moves Learned" section only has egg moves. It says it does not learn any level up or TM moves, but other sites, like Bulbapedia say otherwise. It needs to be updated with all of Maushold's actual moves.

The breeding page should be updated. It currently says:

Pokémon are compatible for breeding if:
They are not legendary Pokémon, baby Pokémon, Unown, Nidorina or Nidoqueen

Now, the Galar fossils and Paradox Pokemon are undiscovered, so they cannot be bred either. I think it should just be updated to:

Pokémon are compatible for breeding if:
They are not in the undiscovered group (at the right).

Riolu is shown as available during both day and night in Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon in Poni Grove. From my experience, it does not appear during the night, or at least has a much lower rate.

Bulbapedia agrees. In SM, it appears in both day and night, but in USUM it appears only in day

Earthquake and Fissure does hit digging Pokémon, but not in Gen 1.
Thunder does hit Flying Pokémon but it did not in Gen 1.
Add those in Earthquake/Fissure and Fly page

Also, Recover had 20 PP in Gen 1-3.
While in the page it says "In Gen 1-8, Recover had 10 PP". It was reduced to 10 in Gen 4.

Hey,

Another small issue on site is that you cannot find Piloswine in PKMN Fire Red - Icefall Cave - B1F.
Only Swinub appears there on same levels mentioned on site.
Meaning that all kinds are the same as for 1F Room 2.
Other sources confirms this, you have to evolve Swinub in order to have Piloswine.

maushold's pokemondb page says it doesn't learn anything via level up or anything from TM, like a stone pokemon or something. i just tested this, and it learns a bunch of TM's. i can name them all if need be, but it's 38 different moves.
34 on the TM screen plus the 4 moves that mine already knows, which are all available as TM's

also a minor correction, on low kick
the part where it lists pokemon who are hit for 120 base damage by low kick
208: steelix (and mega)
208: mega steelix

The ability Leaf Guard erroneously states that it does not protect the user from self inflicted applicable statuses.

It prevents the Pokémon from resting outright.

It also stops Toxic Orb and Flame Orb.

Tested it, but I encourage further testing if needed.

Just now verified it via Bulbapedia, as well.

Hope this helps.

It seems like you don't show TMs which change across a generation. On https://pokemondb.net/item/tm94 it doesn't show being Secret Power in ORAS anywhere.

by
Perhaps an isolated issue, seeing as the very same page records differences in Gen 8.

https://pokemondb.net/ability/weak-armor

It says weak armour raises speed by one stage but the descriptions state that is is shaply boosted (+2)

In the evs section it says vitamins can only be used eleven times on one pokémon, but in gen8 and after you can use 26.

The Wimpod at Poni Wilds can only be found at night; I've tested and confirmed this myself.

by
Bulbapedia says the encounter chance is 100% regardless of the time of day.
Serebii also says it can be encountered at any time.
clearing flag because this error still hasn't been fixed yet
I just want to say that neither Bulbapedia, Serebii, or this site mentions this, so I don't believe it is true

There seems to be some minor mistake when it comes to the location of Rhyhorn in pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver. It can be found at the Safari Zone as well, but only Victory Road and Diglett's Cave are mentioned.

Several reliable sources (such as serebii.net and bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net) all confirm they can be found at the Safari Zone as well. Specifically in the Savannah area during morning and day.

by
All the Safari Zone locations in HGSS are missing.

There seems to be a mistake with the location of Togepi (and evolved versions). It says you can only get it by trading or migrating from another game. But its a whole big thing how you get to hatch Togepi from an egg. I guess you technically can't find Togepi as you get it in the egg form. But the way it currently is is pretty misleading.

Based on cross-checking with Bulbapedia, the following locations are missing for Togepi (and cause incorrect flow-on 'Trade/migrate...' entries for Togetic and Togekiss):

  • Violet City in HG/SS (Egg from Professor Elm)
  • Nimbasa City in B2/W2 (trade with Yancy/Curtis), as well as Dream Radar
  • Friend Safari in X/Y (Fairy-type)
  • Lavaridge Town in OR/AS (Egg from NPC)

I added the missing entries to this post since Togepi encounters are not missing for every game, e.g. FR/LG and Pt are correct.

The location of Corsola seems to be missing for Soul Silver / Heart Gold. It says it can only be traded/migrated from another game, but they can be found by fishing with a good or super rod in: Routes 19, 34, 40, Cherrygrove City, Olivine City, Cianwood City, Union Cave (according to Serebii.net and bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net).

I do not know if this has already been brought to your attention in another way but there is a slight error on your location guide for Route 8 in the Galar section.

A Crustle (Iv 40 for me) can be encountered in the over world right before Steam drift way, however it is not listed.

This might be more of a suggestion than an error, but I think the HM slave searchers (like this one for XY) should list Smeargle as learning every HM.

Snorlax is at Motostoke riverbank but it says you can't get it

On Charizard's page, it says that you can only get Charizard, in Sword and Shield, from trading or migrating. However, you can get a gift charmander postgame. Therefore, it should be evolve Charmeleon.

Edit: Forgot about raids

You can also just catch the line in raids
