Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

On the gravity page, it says nothing about how gravity increases the accuracy of moves by 5/3.

On the guide for EVs, it should say that Power Items now give 8 additional EVs in Gen. 8. Also, it should probably update the locations of these. They are purchased at Battle Facilities in Gen. 4, 5 and 6. In Gen. 7, they are at the Battle Royale Dome. In Gen. 8, it is the BP shop in Hammerlocke.

Pages such as Kingdra's, Dragalge's, Reshiram's, and Zekrom's do not state that they can learn Draco Meteor via Move Tutor in Sword and Shield.

The Ability description for Libero is inaccurate. Libero changes the Pokemon's type before the attack is used, not after.

Baton Pass' passed effects is little wrong.
https://pokemondb.net/move/baton-pass

Trapping effects from Mean Look, Block and Spider Web, on both the user and opponent.

This is not true, and it no longer works Gen V onward.

Generation V onwards
The effects of moves that prevent ordinary switching, such as Mean Look, are no longer passed on to the incoming Pokémon;

Also, Leech Seed is passed on.

Most volatile status conditions (such as confusion, seeding, and curse

Bulbapedia was wrong about mean look. I edited the article, so it should be correct now.

The page for Payback doesn't mention that in Generation 4, Payback still causes double damage if the opponent switches out.

In the EVs page

If you have over 100 EVs in a stat, the first berry will reduce them to 100, while further berries will decrease the EVs by 10. Therefore if you want to remove all EVs you will need 11 berries for the stat.

But this only works in Gen 4 and not in other generations.

On this page:

HeartGold & SoulSilver also sees the return of a feature from Pokémon Yellow where your lead party Pokémon follows you around outside its PokéBall. However, the larger Pokémon like Ho-Oh or Wailord are put into their PokéBalls when you go inside building.

I think you want to say "buildings" or "a building".

I don't know if this is just me, but on the Galarian gym leaders page there isn't a team for Leon.

Copycat’s description is wrong; it affects the last move used even if you were the one using that move.
For example, if you use Tackle and your opponent switches, Copycat will copy Tackle.

Quote from Bulbapedia:

Copycat causes the user to use the last move that was used in the battle (even if the last move was by the user).

The Effects summary for the move Payback states, "Power doubles if the user was attacked first."
This is incorrect. The user simply has to act after the target for the increased power; it does not have to be attacked.

by
I think it should say that only in gen 4, payback's power doubles after the target switches in.

On the ‘Nature power’ move page, in the Gen 6-7 table, it says that Power Gem is 70 BP instead of 80 BP, as it is in those Generations

The light clay description does not mention that it also boosts the duration of Aurora Veil.

Dunno if this has been reported but Tauros' page only shows regular Tauros' movepool and not it's Paldean forms'. I could be missing something here though but the only tab there is is on the stats and not the movepool

Earthquake and Fissure does hit digging Pokémon, but not in Gen 1.
Thunder does hit Flying Pokémon but it did not in Gen 1.
Add those in Earthquake/Fissure and Fly page

Also, Recover had 20 PP in Gen 1-3.
While in the page it says "In Gen 1-8, Recover had 10 PP". It was reduced to 10 in Gen 4.

https://pokemondb.net/ability/weak-armor

It says weak armour raises speed by one stage but the descriptions state that is is shaply boosted (+2)

In the evs section it says vitamins can only be used eleven times on one pokémon, but in gen8 and after you can use 26.

Oinkologne's learnset differs for male and female species (see Serebii, Bulbapedia), but this isn't reflected on PokemonDB.

The top of each mega evolution's page says something like one of these, but it seems like most (if not all) are missing gen 7.

Steelix has a Mega Evolution, available in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon Go.

Heracross has a Mega Evolution, available in Generation 6 games.

by
Do you mean Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee? Yes I should add that to the Kanto mega evos, but Steelix/Heracross are not available in those games.
No, I meant Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon.

Dragonair and Dragonite are listed as not having any egg moves in SwSh. For consistency with the rest of PokemonDB they should have the same egg moves as Dratini.

https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/dragonair/moves/8
https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/dragonite/moves/8

Edit: The same problem is present with (at least) the following evolution families.

  • SwSh: Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Omanyte, Kabuto, Dratini, Zubat, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Aron, Swablu, Nidoran-F, Nidoran-M, Lileep, Anorith, Spheal, Bagon, Gible, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, Amaura

  • SV: Piplup, Turtwig, and Chimchar, plus all returning evolution families in DLC1 (Phantump, Grubbin, Cutiefly, Bellsprout, Jangmo-o, Munchlax, Hoothoot, Spinarak, Gligar, Slugma, Aipom, Yanma, Swinub, Vullaby, Ekans, Poochyena, Lotad, Seedot, Poliwag, Litwick, Ducklett, Mienfoo, Nosepass, Sentret, Cleffa, Corphish, Feebas, Duskull, Chingling)

It is likely that there are more errors for regional forms (for example, Alolan Vulpix in SV definitely has the same issue), but I haven't checked these exhaustively.

Additionally:

  • Roserade should not have Synthesis as an EM in SwSh (it is only an EM for Budew, not Roselia or Roserade)
  • Male Meowstic should have the same EMs as female Meowstic in SwSh (and probably in Gen 7 too)
  • Lycanroc (Dusk Form) should have the same EMs as the other forms in SwSh and SV
