Reposting a Shift Gear Toxtricity set (this time for NU) since Toxtricity is currently being suspect tested at the time this was posted. Shift Gear is used to boost Toxtricity's speed to outspeed faster Pokemon in the meta such as Cinccino and Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Flamigo and Munkidori. Boomburst is used as Toxtricity's most powerful move due to Punk Rock boosting its power. Overdrive is used for Toxtricity's STAB due to it also being boosted by Punk Rock, being useful to hit Pokemon who resist or are immune to Boomburst such as Basculegion, Houndstone, and Klefki. Both Boomburst and Overdrive also allow Toxtricity to use Throat Spray to get a Special Attack boost, making Toxtricity a scary sweeper.
The last slot is rather flexible. Drain Punch is used to allow Toxtricity to deal damage to non Tera Ghost Chansey. Snarl can be used to hit the rare Ground/Ghost types in Goluk and Palossand. Sludge Wave gives Toxtricity a Poison STAB that can be useful to hit Pokemon such as Scream Tail, Tsareena, and Sylveon super effectively, as well as dealing neutral damage to Brambleghast and Decidueye. Encore letting you lock a Pokemon into using the move they last used is a useful move to be able to give Toxtricity more breathing room to be able to set up. Volt Switch may sound weird on a Shift Gear set, but Volt Switch is used to essentially allow Toxtricity to bluff a Choice Specs set before revealing Shift Gear late game.
Tera Normal is used for the Tera Type to make Boomburst a STAB boost, making it more powerful. Throat Spray is the usual item for the Special Attack boost after using Boomburst or Overdrive. Silk Scarf is only used if you use Volt Switch for the 4th move since it allows Toxtricity to bluff a Choice Specs set when you use Boomburst. Naive Nature and the first EV spread is used if you use Drain Punch for the last slot. If you aren't using Drain Punch, using the second EV spread listed of 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe. Timid is used if you aren't using Drain Punch or Volt Switch for the last slot. Modest Nature is only used with Volt Switch for the last slot to let Toxtricity bluff a Choice Specs since those sets use Modest Nature.
