Ability: Levitate
EVs: 3 Sp.Atk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
Hydreigon

  • Dragon Rush
  • Toxic/Fire Blast
  • Surf
  • Dark Pulse

Dragon Rush: Great Atk, Good Acc, Chance to Flinch, STAB, Coverage vs Dragon

If lowering attack with bold, run Dragon Pulse over Dragon Rush. Rush is unreliable anyway.

Hydreigon @ White Herb
Ability: Levitate

Hydreigon @ Leftovers / Choice Scarf / Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid (preferable, you want speed for this move set ) / Modest (if you want extra power)
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spd / 4HP
Dragon Pulse - STAB, coverage, powerful, etc.
Dark Pulse - Once again, STAB coverage powerful, etc.
Flamethrower - Destroys Bug and Ice, some of your weakensess, also a powerful move.
Flash Cannon - FAIRY TYPES!!! This move is essential, being extremely powerful, but more importantly, it takes out your greatest weakness. This move must be included in this Pokemon's moveset.

Zweilous @ Eviolite / Choice Band

enter image description here
Ability: Hustle
Role: Trick Room Sweeper
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Hp, 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Spd
Nature: Brave
-Outrage
-Crunch
-Superpower
-Return

Hustle makes this thing hit like a truck. With Choice Band and Hustle, it effectively gets doubled Attack, making it base 590, or the most powerful Outrage user, even better than Mega-Rayquaza. If, however, you want to survive better, Eviolite makes up for when it misses. The rest are extremely powerful coverage moves (walled only by Steel/Fairy).

And now it gets Dragon Dance (‘◉⌓◉’)

I usually go with this set:

Hydra @ Life Orb
Naughty nature (+Atk -Sp Def)
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 Spd

-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Outrage / Draco Meteor
-Iron Tail / Crunch

Hydreigon is an extremely useful and versatile Pokemon, but this is a general sweeping set with or without boosts. Earthquake and Stone Edge form the destructive EdgeQuake combo and are both great coverage moves overall. Iron Tail is for dealing with Fairy types, while Crunch has the chance of lowering Defence and is a really strong STAB move. Outrage is just to absolutely destroy other Dragon types and OHKO a lot of Pokemon. Draco Meteor is the only Special move and could surprise opponents who send out physical walls like Donphan or Ferrothorn. You could lead with it to trick your opponent into thinking you're a Special attacker and bringing out pokes such as Snorlax, etc. Although if you do run Draco Meteor you might want to lower your HP EVs (Which are there to max lifespan with Life Orb and all) to 151 and put the extra 101 into Sp Atk.

Hydreigon will probably be OU or maybe even Ubers, but who knows? Here is my Special Moveset, hope this helps!

Hydreigon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Nature: Modest (+Sp.Atk -Atk) / Timid (+Spd -Atk)

-Dark Pulse (STAB)
-Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse (Dragon Pulse if you don't want annoying Special Attack drops)
-Earth Power (Coverage)
-Flash Cannon (Coverage)

So we have two STAB moves (Why not?). Earth Power covers Poison, Steel, Fire, Rock, and Electric types. Flash Cannon covers Fairy Types that are a huge threat.

Being able to decimate in basically every online battle I do does require a little bit of preparation to get a decent Sp. Attacker. Finally, I found one!

Hydriegon @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Nature: Modest

Dragon Pulse (STAB)
Dark Pulse (STAB)
Flash Cannon (R.I.P. Fairy and Ice types)
Flamethrower (Bugs, more Ice types)

The only thing that I ever played that walled this was a shiny Level 100 Tapu Fini.

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Modest Nature
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 170 HP / 252 SpA / 86 Spd
____
Dragon Pulse
Decent, STAB. I'd rather have this than Draco Meteor because this move doesn't lower your Special Attack.

Flamethrower
Obviously this is a really strong Fire type move. It gives a great coverage and it fits perfectly in this Special Attacker moveset.

Dark Pulse
STAB, Special attacker obviously.

Earth Power
Special Ground move, Decent power.

This is my set. I find it works well.
Hydreigon (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Rash Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Pulse
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Psychic]
- Dark Pulse

This set also works with leftovers, but I prefer focus sash because it helps him survive fairy moves

Offensive Dragonium-Z

Hydreigon @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Sp. Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse / Flash Cannon
- Fire Blast / Flash Cannon
- Roost

Draco Meteor is the most powerful dragon type attack and is Hydreigon's main attacking move. Dark Pulse is also for STAB. Fire Blast covers steel types, and Flash Cannon covers fairy types. Finally, Roost is good for recovery.

Draco Meteor is not the most powerful Dragon type move in terms of BP, Roar of Time is though.
True, but Hydreigon doesn’t learn Roar of Time. Come to think of it, this set should have Roost.

Hydreigon was pretty good until Fairy types were introduced. Then, it moved down a tier. It's really outclassed by other psuedo legendaries. (especially ones with mega evolution) It doesn't even get Nasty Plot. Though I still like this thing, so I gave two sets.

Main Lead

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP

  • Draco Meteor
  • Dark Pulse
  • Flash Cannon/U-Turn
  • Focus Blast/Fire Blast

The Scarf on Hydreigon allows it to outspeed most things in UU with the exception of Mega-Aerodactyl, Mega-Beedrill, and other Scarfers. Draco Meteor is for your main STAB and is really powerful. Just switch out after the Sp. Atk drop. Dark Pulse is for STAB. Flash Cannon is if you dare to take on Fairy types, but U-Turn is for switching out against a Fairy type Pokemon. Focus Blast is better Ice coverage and Steel coverage, but Fire Blast is more accurate and does the same thing as Focus Blast with the plus of Bug coverage.

Life Orb Attacker

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Timid Nature
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP

  • Dragon Pulse
  • Dark Pulse
  • Fire Blast
  • Defog/U-Turn

You really only need three moves with this set. Dragon Pulse is pretty good STAB. Dark Pulse is also good STAB. Fire Blast covers Ice, Bug, and Steel types. Defog is just for utility, but U-Turn is for scouting.

Hydreigon @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)

Charge Beam- hits Water and Flying types for coverage, but is also super effective against water/fairy types. Has a 70% chance to raise your Special Attack by one.

Flash Cannon- hits Ice, Rock, and Fairy types. It also has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense by one stage.

Fire Blast- hits Grass, Bug, Ice and Steel types super effectively. It has a 10% chance of burning the target.

Dragon Pulse- hits Dragon types super effectively and gets a STAB bonus.

The Weakness Policy is for you surviving a super effective hit, so you gain +2 to your Attack and Special Attack. Combine that with Hydreigon's speed, and you might take out most of a opponents team.
I've used this set for a long time and it has not let me down. 99% of the time I never miss a Fire Blast. The reason why there is no Draco Meteor on this list is because Draco Meteor lowers your Special Attack by 2 stages after every time you use it, which makes it suck, in my opinion.

The max EVs you can have is 510, with 252 max per stat

Personally I think Hydreigon is an absolute and utter MONSTER, probably my favorite sub-legendary, with its special attack being threw the roof and type coverage almost never seen before by a Dragon Type, It can be a huge hastle to deal with in competetive battles. In fact I would go as far to say that this Pokemon is preforming even better than the likes of Dragonite, Salamence, Slaking, even Garchomp, and Even Tyranitar in the competitive scene, at least thats how I'm preforming with it. Hydreigon being a monsterous special attacking dragon that has absolutely broken type coverage for a dragon type is a fearsome and DEADLY opponent. Here is my moveset:
Pokemon: Hydreigon
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest/Docile (+Satk -Atk)/(neutral for earthqauke coverage)
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd
Item: Choice Scarf
Moves:
-Dragon Pulse( Best special Dragon move, Great STAB move and covers weakness to Dragon)
-Dark Pulse(Great special Dark STAB move, good chance to flinch target)
-Fire Blast(Very strong fire type move allowing for huge type coverage, also covers Its Weakness to Ice/Bug)
-Earthquake(One of the Best coverage moves out there, provides Massive Type coverage and is also very strong, Perfect against really strong fire/fighting types like Blaziken, Infernape, Emboar and more to cover for its weakness to Fighting, yes its physical attack wont be anywhere close to its special attack, but hydreigons starting attack stat is good enough to knock out lots of Pokemon that are weak to earthquake, even without taking some EVs off of Special attack and adding them to Physical Attack)
All in all, this Pokemon is a god damn monster, I cant tell you how many people I have swept under my feet with this dragon... Including people who just use OP Uber tear Pokemon or Mega Rayquaza.

Hydreigon @ Weakness Policy/Starf Berry/Petaya Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Timid or Modest Nature
Moveset:

        Dragon Pulse-STAB
        Dark Pulse-STAB
        Flash Cannon-Coverage
        Flamethrower-Coverage and it's a dragon

This set is strange, I guess. I've used it several times and it works...pretty well.

Hydreigon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Timid / Modest nature

  • Substitute
  • Nasty Plot
  • Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
  • Dark Pulse / Earth Power / Flash Cannon / Belch

Substitute to get closer to a Salac boost, Nasty Plot is setup, Dragon Pulse is STAB, Draco Meteor is stronger but wastes Nasty Plot. Dark Pulse is STAB with a 20% flinch rate, Earth Power for Fairy types like Magearna, Primarina, and (if playing Nat Dex) Mega Mawile which resist Flash Cannon. Speaking of Flash Cannon, it covers Clefable. Belch is a gimmick move that should be used after the consumption of the Salac Berry, slams Clefable, Togekiss, but it can only be used once.

bug types are waiting on you especially genesect
Genesect isn't even in the same tier as Hydreigon. Nobody's going to be using this thing in Ubers anyway. Also what do you mean by "bug types are waiting". The only one out of all the attacking moves on this set that Bug resists is Earth Power. even then, dragon pulse or draco meteor is neutral and does a lot of damage to most bugs. also bug types are pretty bad anyways
There are a lot of good bug types. Scizor, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Genesect (Coincidentally), and Volcarona, to name a few. :P

Anything faster with Bug Buzz or Disarming voice hits though sub, but neither are common in most Formats this set will be used. The real killer is Infiltrator mons that carry super effective moves, like Dragapult. Or just Dragapult with Dragon Darts. :P

Hydreigon (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
-Draco Meteor: STAB and coverage
-Flash Cannon: coverage
-Fly: coverage
-Dark Pulse: STAB

by
Fly generally isn't good competitively, especially with a Modest Nature. Replace your 252 Attack EVs with 252 Special Attack EVs, get rid of Fly, and put in Flamethrower or Nasty Plot, or some other special move.

National Dex

Hydreigon @ Darkinium Z / Dragonium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

  • Draco Meteor
  • Dark Pulse
  • Fire Blast / Earth Power / Roost
  • Nasty Plot

This is probably my favorite Hydreigon set. Draco Meteor is extremely powerful STAB, and if you opt for Dragonium Z, it becomes even stronger and ignores the SpA drop drawback. Dark Pulse is spammable STAB with a decent flinch rate that can punish some of Hydreigon's slower targets. Fire Blast hits Ice, Steel, and Bug types hard. Earth power is a safer option to use against Magearna that also shits on Heatran; you don't want to miss a Fire Blast and then see the Magearna set up Shift Gear or Calm Mind in your face (or just outright destroy you), so this fixes that issue. Roost is healing and makes Hydreigon hard to revenge-kill. Nasty Plot is the crux of this set, as it makes Hydreigon one of, if not the best wallbreakers in National Dex. Even Blissey can't stand up to the massive power of a +2 Devastating Drake / Black Hole Eclipse followed by Draco Meteor. That Clefable there trying to switch in? Not a chance. Magearna also has to be very afraid of +2 Black Hole Eclipse. Tapu Fini is Hydreigon's best switch-in, however it is vulnerable to Stealth Rock and Spikes, so even that isn't a completely safe option. Nasty Plot Hydreigon almost always requires the enemy to sacrifice a Pokemon, just so that it can be revenge-killed by something like Garchomp, Protean Greninja, Weavile... Hydreigon finds a lot of room to set up with its ability to wall and scare off many top tiers, and its immunity to Earthquake and Psychic type moves.

+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Tapu Fini: 202-238 (58.7 - 69.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock, 1 layer of Spikes, and Leftovers recovery

+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Clefable: 276-325 (70 - 82.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 390-460 (54.6 - 64.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 475-561 (66.5 - 78.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 318-375 (44.5 - 52.5%) -- 21.5% chance to 2HKO

+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magearna: 225-264 (74.7 - 87.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

I’m surprised there’s not that many Focus Sash sets.

Ghidorah (Hydreigon) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid/Modest Nature
-Dark Pulse
-Draco Meteor
-Flash Cannon / Flamethrower
-Nasty Plot

Most people would want to give their Hydreigon a Choice Scarf or a Life Orb, but I find a Focus Sash extremely useful for safe entries and free setup.
Dark Pulse is an obvious enough choice, given it's Hydreigon’s go-to STAB.
Draco Meteor is risky, due to it decreasing SpA after use. It is a good Dynamax move, however, and can be used in certain situations.
Flash Cannon is a coverage move, very useful for taking out unsuspecting Fairy types. If you’re running a Sun team, Flamethrower can work as well.
Nasty Plot is the cornerstone for this set. It will set Hydreigon up for a sweep.

You’ll want to switch in via Baton Pass or U-turn if you can after you’ve cleared hazards, or after one of your Pokémon has fainted. Use this strategy ideally on an opponent Hydreigon can outspeed. If you can’t switch in with a Substitute, this is where the Focus Sash will come in clutch. Use a Nasty Plot and your opponent will likely go for a super effective move to try to OHKO. The Focus Sash will help keep Hydreigon alive and allow it a chance to Dynamax and start sweeping with Max Darkness and Max Wyrmwind.
