Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

This isn’t really an error, but it is minor, so here:

Halloween 2020 is not on the “Old Designs” page.

https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/basculin

You list its base Friendship as 50, when it actually has 70, according to Bulbapedia.

The page for Payback doesn't mention that in Generation 4, Payback still causes double damage if the opponent switches out.

On your account in the edit settings, were it has the option to block Wall Posts, it says:

Allow users to post on your wall (you will also be emailed)

Could we fix this, since you aren't emailed. This would be appreciated, but is no major thing.

In the EVs page

If you have over 100 EVs in a stat, the first berry will reduce them to 100, while further berries will decrease the EVs by 10. Therefore if you want to remove all EVs you will need 11 berries for the stat.

But this only works in Gen 4 and not in other generations.

The move Bleakwind Storm is listed as an Ice-type move, whereas it is a Flying-type move.

Qwilfish's evolution chart doesn't list Overqwil as Hisuian Qwilfish's pre-evolution, whereas Overqwil's page does mention its pre-evolution being Hisuian Qwilfish.

Two things that happen when you're banned, and I can't see any reason as to why they're intentionally meant to be that way:

  • You can't access the Rules page, which is just ironic af. The "Rules" tab straight up disappears from the Pokebase section, and clicking on it from other sections or entering the link to it takes to a page which says "You do not have the permission to perform this operation."

  • You can't see others' Gender box in profiles, its gone. Like why? If anything, would it not make more sense to hide others' Country box from banned users?

Please tell me if any of these have been reported before.

To be honest this is probably worth making a separate thread about. The gender issue is especially weird, it might be a problem with the software.
You're right, should I make two separate posts about these or just one? If one, what should I keep the title as (refering to these as errors or suggestions)?
One works fine because it's related to a single issue (banned users not being able to access certain features of the site). Error or suggestion both work in the title in my opinion, but error seems to be a better fit. Though others may disagree.

Pokemaster edit: the DexNav Pokemon for Hoenn do not specify when they're post-National Dex.

Hello, im currently playing Pokemon omega ruby, and im using your web site to find information on Pokemon in every area (like I've always done), and im sorry to say but i think you made en error in the site, because most of the Pokemon, you right you can find, you can't actually find.

It's so frustrating, pleas let me know if it's just me that's blind or if it's you that made a mistake.

this is not a complaint, just a heads op.

Could you provide some examples?
Note that there's a probability of each pokemon appearing - some appear less than others.
of course, on route 101 it says that, with the DexNav, you can catch, Lillipup, Zorua, and Sewaddle, well I've looked on that route extensively, and i'm telling you the only pokemon you can catch with the DexNav on that route is Zigzagoon, Wurmple and Poochyena. Your site even says that Zoura and Sewaddle is common pokemon in that area and i'm pretty sure none of them is in the game.

BTW. thank you for answering :)
That's because those Pokemon are only available in after you get the National Dex, the site just doesn't specify that. After you get it, a ton of new Pokemon start appearing on the DexNav. So it's actually correct, just a bit vague. Other sites like Bulbapedia say the exact same thing (see http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Hoenn_Route_101#Generation_VI ).
Thanks for bringing this up though!
Oh! great! got it as the last thing last night so i havent tried it yet, cant wait.!

thanks a lot and no problem :)
Thanks. I've edited the answer with clarification, in other words what I actually need to fix when I get around to fixing it :)

On the page about IVs:
> In Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver, you can find out what type Hidden Power would be for any Pokémon by showing it to a man in the game corner Prize Exchange building (Veilstone City for Platinum, Celadon City for HG/SS).

This needs to be updated.

The Wimpod at Poni Wilds can only be found at night; I've tested and confirmed this myself.

Bulbapedia says the encounter chance is 100% regardless of the time of day.
Serebii also says it can be encountered at any time.
clearing flag because this error still hasn't been fixed yet

On the Amulet Coin page. There is an Amulet Coin in Gold/Silver/Crystal.
Its description is Doubles Monetary Earnings
I know this because it is currently attached to my Jolteon while I'm fighting the Elite Four.

In the Galar Mine, it says that Woobat can only be found at level 15 highest. However, I have just found a Woobat at level 16. Am I missing something or is this an actual mistake?

It's probably a mistake. That's what this thread is for.
There are some Pokemon that are separate from the regular encounter tables (which I checked and definitely say level 11-15). Will compile a list and add them when I can.

The description for Scrappy should mention that it blocks Intimidate.

Toxic has perfect accuracy for Poison types, which is not in the move description.

Toxic will never miss if used by a Poison-type Pokémon, even if the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Fly or Dig.

Also says it on Showdown!.

There is information missing for the move Bug Buzz. Bug Buzz can bypass Substitute but cannot break it. In addition, it does not affect Pokemon with the ability Soundproof.
