If your post was hidden or closed, you can use this thread to ask why or appeal the decision. Any new posts asking why questions were hidden will be hidden.

A staff member or somebody experienced with the community will reply to your post. You may also choose to raise the issue directly with the staff member who removed the post, via their wall.

Before starting, please read the steps below.

Step 1: Read the rules page. You should have done this already, but do it again even if you have. It is our best effort to list every reason why a post might be removed. The most common reasons are:

  • the post was a duplicate, i.e. the question was already asked or a very similar answer already existed.
  • the question was made on the wrong section.
  • the post was a trade/friend code request.
  • the question was unclear or lacked detail needed to be answerable.
  • the answer lacked explanation or was clearly unresearched.
  • the post was on a moveset question and broke moveset question guidelines.
  • the post was a discussion thread, opinion question, or poll.
  • the question was of the form "What is a good moveset..." or "What is a good team..."

If you've read the rules thoroughly and you're sure your post didn't fit any of the categories, read onward.

Step 2: Locate your post and provide a link to it, so we know which post you're talking about. If your post was indeed taken down, you should be able to find a notification about it in your updates area, or find it through your Ctrl + H browser history. If all else fails, describe your post thoroughly so we can find it.

Step 3: Check your post using the link you found. It is possible your post is public and you simply couldn't find it. You'll know that it's indeed hidden if it is faded white -- in that case, proceed onward. Otherwise, it is either public or pending review -- in that case, just wait for somebody to get to it.

If you've verified your post is in fact hidden, and you've got a link (or good description) for it...

Step 4: Leave a message here! Paste the link to your post and give context if you deem necessary. Please be nice and we'll be nice to you.

Posts here are removed over time to prevent clutter.

Hey you, did you actually read these steps before posting? In full? Ignoring things is probably what got you here in the first place!

Excuse me PM, but I answered a question and it took a while to make sure it was approved, and by the time it got approved, two people had already answered the question after me. But since it only just got approved, a moderator thought that I had answered the question after the other two had, so my post got hidden. Why did it take so long to get approved?
Because no one was on to approve it when it was posted. You see Editors and Mods are the ones that approve posts, so if an Editor or Mod isn't on, your post doesn't get approved until one comes on and approves it.
Some weirdo Hidden my Question when i was about to edit it, i wish this site can make onley the person who origonally posted the post hide/edit it
Yeah but which question? If it broke a rule then the mod who hid it was doing the right thing. And also, can you image what a wreck this site would be if mods couldn't hide other people's posts? There'd be trolls and advertisement posts everywhere, and the rules would have no meaning since people would post what they want and it couldn't be hidden.
True. But still i find it random, and kinda rude...it would be different  if it was Spam or a useless post
Yo, I don't know where to talk about this, but I come back and I look in my profile that someone changed it to something about Nazi's? The hell? I took it down, dunno how long it's been there.
No one can change your profile unless they have access to your account.
Mods can't edit profiles? Can Pokemaster?
Pokemaster can, but only he.
Then how come I saw,"Is Gyrados a dragon type", once. WAY TOO TRIVIAL
The question you mentioned was asked in 2010, which was before our current rule set was established. We since developed rules like the one that blocks "trivial" posts based on what didn't work previously.
Why is action-replay a tag if third party modification and third party software is not allowed?
Because questions can involve to Action Replay but not break the rules. Your question related directly to Action Replay and how to use it, so it was not allowed as that's about the Action Replay software which isn't Pokemon. However, a post like this could involve Action Replay, but it is not the main subject of the question: https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/181812/is-hacking-illegal-or-legit
There is a quantity of posts that ask directly about how to use Action Replay in the tag that you mentioned, which I will hide. Everything else that remains, I consider to involve Action Replay in some way but asks a different sort of question (eg. "what does AR do to the game" can be argued to be about how the Pokemon game works and not predominantly about the AR software). I am sorry if the posts listed on that tag led you to believe questions like yours would be accepted.
This is good to know
Well i don't know much about this, but i'll say this: if your question was hidden, it might have because you did something wrong in spelling or phrased it wrong
I asked about wobbuffets hatching a wobbuffet, the original was NOT on the "Are you sure your question has not been asked already?"  box when you put in the title for the question. I saw after mine was taken down/ closed that the original question was already approved, so why did it not come up in that box?
The question didn't appear in the box because the title didn't match. 'Is this a breeding glitch?' has very little in common with 'Why can't I hatch a Wobbuffet in Sword/Shield?'
I posted a Lucario moveset on the "Good moveset" thread, but it got taken down. I checked, and no one else had the same one. Is it just because I didn't put in EVs or something?
Yes, I removed the Lucario movesets you posted because they didn't include EVs. I will also mention that we prefer that you post each moveset in a separate answer, so that others can vote on them separately.
There is a list of guidelines linked in the description on each moveset thread, which explains these and the other requirements for submissions to moveset threads. Please do read them. Be mindful that they are more strict than they have been in years gone by.

Why does my Rate My Team post keep disappearing? It follows all rules and I've tried it twice now.
@Kyogre71 you mean this post? https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/rmt/55238/gen-8-anything-goes-first-competitive-team

To be honest, I’m not sure. I’ll talk to the other mods about it.
I re-showed it; sorry for the inconvenice. I could only find the one thread linked above, though. Are you sure you submitted the post twice?
Hey, there was a ((troll)) question about whether or not homosexual Pokemon existed, and it's hidden now. Is there any particular reason, except that it's a controversial topic?
It was a dumb troll question that had no actual answer. I understand it was left up previously but it was still getting attention, and I don't feel as if it's the type of question we necessarily want people seeing.
Hm, kinda disagree about not wanting people seeing it, and whether its attention warrants it being hidden rather than "closed", but you're right about it not having an answer as such. It's more suitable to a forum I suppose, and it's more of a discussion than a cut-and-dry question and answer. Since JarJar himself said it was to get attention and expected it be removed, I don't really have a stand in trying to defend it. I agree that it might not be in the spirit of the site and the image we maintain, but is there anyway a non (Editor/Mod) might access the question?
If we had the link we could still access it. My point was just that it doesn't suit the kind of content style we want, it's obviously there just to be annoying and controversial and like you said for attention. I personally don't see a reason for such a silly question to be up there for no reason.
@Fizz thanks :) and I'm pretty sure I did it twice, why?
There is no second post, is all. If you did submit the post multiple times, we would have asked which you wanted to keep.
I am puzzled as to why my question was Hidden.

https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/341866/pokemon-used-by-trainer-class

The reasoning given was that the answer was subjective.

I don't know whether the question was misinterpreted or something, but the answer I was looking for is not subjective at all. I was looking for a compiled list of which Pokémon are used by the different Trainer Classes in the games (specifically Gen 1, but others would be nice). So, Bug Catchers use: Caterpie, Weedle, etc. and Jr. Trainers use: Rattata, Nidoran, etc.
Yes, I misunderstood your question; my bad. I re-showed it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I forgot why I hid the first one so I've reshown it.

The comment wasn't super relevant and it bumped unnecessarily.
Why one of my comment in this was hidden?

https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/344178/what-pokemon-have-the-shortest-longest-cries-each-generation

I don't have any doubt on first, I asked about second one.
I felt it wasn't conducive with the tone we'd want when trying to critique something. The comments by sumwun is more the tone you should be going for. The second comment was just irrelevant
Why 2 of my comment(s) on this question was hidden?

https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/343385/how-long-does-mega-evolution-last
After I decide what to do when a post gets flagged, I hide any posts discussing the reasons, etc. unless they're relevant to the actual question. They just become clutter for people viewing the thread in the future.
The reason I didn't select an answer is that none of them are clearly better than the others, and I didn't remove the question as a duplicate because it isn't exactly the same as the other one that was linked.
Why my comment on this (1/2) was hidden?

https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/110253/legendary-vs-mythical-pokemon?show=364226#c364226

There were a little bit of errors in that question, I just suggested to fix them!
Because it's completely unnecessary? Who cares about the grammar or spelling being slightly off on an 8 year old question. No one would have even seen that the spelling or grammar is bad if you hasn't commented so why does it even matter?

It's a waste of time basically
However, it's a good thing, isn't it? I'm pretty sure it won't be a waste of time for doing something "good", am I correct?
I'm not PX, but I did flag that comment. Who cares about a (very minor) grammatical error made LITERALLY EIGHT YEARS AGO?? As long as you're able to read it, it doesn't matter. Hell, I'd say that there's really no reason to fix extremely minor grammatical errors on a post made an hour ago. As long as it can be understood, there's absolutely no issue with it. The lack of an accented e in "Pokemon", (which is something that is left out 90% of the time that word is put on this website, as it is not easy to type on most English keyboards) lack of capitalization at the beginning of the description, and the lack of a question mark at the end is no reason to make a comment pointing those things out and demanding that they are fixed on a question that is nearly a decade old.
Wasting auths time is not a good thing, no.
@HT Validity of a question can't be determined by looking at its age, no?
Age is a factor in the validity of you correcting something and of its relevance to the current user base.

It's a waste of time. Please stop wasting our time.
i was reading this and I still feel sad no one likes my answers i hate how I’m not welcome..
You are not unwelcome. If you put more research into your answers and make sure they are relevant to the question, then they will be received better.
I asked a question, and gave out two answers as well.
It's not showing up on my account. Why? Could anyone help? Also, one answer showed up, and now i have 12 points. Please help?
@Seven of Nine(tails) I found one of your hidden answers: https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/13286/what-is-a-good-moveset-for-swoobat?show=379827#a379827
This answer was hidden because it does not include EVs, which we require for all moveset answers. If you don't know what EVs are, there are many guides online that go over what they are.
If you posted the question 17 hours ago, along with the other two posts, then I couldn't find it. Maybe you forgot to click "Ask the question"?
@Seven of Nine(tails) did you follow the steps in the main post? You would have been able to find the post KRLW890 linked above by going to your updates list (step #2).
The reason you have 12 points instead of 20 is that you received -10 points for getting a down-vote, and +2 points for selecting an answer to your question. Read the following for more information: https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/meta/202
It is possible that you can't see your posts because you are looking for them on the wrong section. For example, if you are here on the Meta section, then you won't see posts you sent to the main section. Here is a link to your profile on the main section, where one question and one answer are available: https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/user/Seven+of+Nine%28tails%29
As KRLW890 described above, I removed one of your answers. If there are more that you are not sure about, please describe them or link to them (per step #2) so we know what to explain.
